the scams are every where, so don’t trust every online bitcoin wallet.

In addition to what others said, the desktop wallet also exists and the prvt key is saved in your PC's drive.

its like a bank account but bank are not safe while bitcoin wallet are totally have a secured and safe from theft

if your key is not sharable or just you know about it then bitcoin wallet is secured

First you have to choice the type wallets,wallets are of some types online wallets,desktop wallets , Mobile software wallets, papper wallet, hardware wallets.
