Yes in exchange u don't have ur bitcoin just the transaction address and you have to pay each new transaction because the it will expire after one transaction.

According to BitcoinRichList, the top 100 addresses own 19% and the top 500 addresses own around 33%. It is hard to dig any further because one person or entity may own many of those addresses. Hope that helps.

Because there are no universal fees. Each exchange has different bidders with different buy and sell offers, hence different rates.

- Join a pool that mines altcoins.
- A good pool will always provide you with a guide a to setup a software to mine your favorite coins. I would recommend you joining Coinotron as it is one of my favorite pools for years and still going strong ;)

For short term, yes. In a longer run, not at all. Mining through pools can generate you some quick coins plus the payouts are frequent. On the other hand, solo mining is relatively slower and does not promise frequent payouts, which is a big NO!
